Equine Assisted Psychotherapy

What is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a form of animal-assisted psychotherapy involving the client, practitioner and the horse(s).

It is an experiential approach to psychological intervention and personal development. EAP offers a safe space in which learning, growth, and change can occur via the new experiences facilitated by the therapist with horses.

The horses, with their unique attributes, support the therapeutic and learning process. EAP can assist clients of all ages to meet their therapeutic or personal development goals. EAP is suitable for individuals, couples, groups, or families.
